The story of Amiflex® and Amiflex® 2.0 in the USA
In spring 2023, we launched Amiflex, the first registered amitraz “flash” treatment in the U.S. without temperature constraints during use. However, Amiflex was classified under RUP (Restricted Use Pesticides) status, meaning it can only be applied by certified users who have completed specialized training and are licensed by state or federal authorities for using such products with restricted use.
Now, driven by our commitment to offering a more accessible, a user certification-free solution in the USA, we took decisive action and introduced a fully accessible treatment for all beekeepers – Amiflex 2.0 – delivering the same trusted performance as the original Amiflex.
The formulation, packaging, and conditions of use remain totally unchanged from the original Amiflex® except from the removal of RUP license requirement.
Following EPA’s federal approval, Amiflex 2.0 will soon be distributed to beekeepers across the United States, in accordance with local state registrations. As of February 4, 2026, the following states have approved Amiflex 2.0: Alaska (AK), Arizona (AZ), Arkansas (AR), Colorado (CO), Connecticut (CT), Delaware (DE), Georgia (GA), Idaho (ID), Iowa (IA), Kansas (KS), Kentucky (KY), Louisiana (LA), Maine (ME), Massachusetts (MA), Michigan (MI), Mississippi (MS), Missouri (MO), Nebraska (NE), Nevada (NV), New Jersey (NJ), New Mexico (NM), New York (NY), North Carolina (NC), North Dakota (ND), Ohio (OH), Oklahoma (OK), Pennsylvania (PA), Rhode Island (RI), South Carolina (SC), Tennessee (TN), Texas (TX), Utah (UT), Vermont (VT), Virginia (VA), Washington (WA), West Virginia (WV), Wisconsin (WI), Wyoming (WY).
We will keep you informed as soon as it becomes available through your distributors.

When can I use Amiflex® / Amiflex® 2.0?
Amiflex / Amiflex 2.0 is a 7-day treatment that can be applied once to four times per year per colony.
This treatment offers high flexibility, allowing application before, after, and between honey flows, as long as the bees are active in the hives, with no withdrawal period after treatment. Please note that treatment must always be carried out without honey supers.
Even when brood is present, Amiflex / Amiflex 2.0 delivers a rapid knock-down effect on varroa mites, making it an effective solution when quick mite reduction is needed.
In case of high infestation, up to two consecutive applications may be carried out, with a 7-day interval between treatments. Please keep in mind that no more than four applications may be conducted per year.
Amiflex / Amiflex 2.0 can also be applied at the end of the season, just before a slow-release treatment. Used this way, it provides an initial knock-down effect, helping to prepare honey bee colonies for a successful overwintering. Combining a flash treatment with a slow-release treatment ensures both fast mite reduction and long-term control.
Please note that Amiflex / Amiflex 2.0 does not replace long-acting treatments. It is designed as an additional tool within an integrated varroa control strategy.
Ready-To-Use for maximum convenience

Restricted Use Pesticide Status – only applicable for Amiflex® in the USA
The RUP (Restricted Use Pesticides) status implies that these pesticides can only be used by certified applicators who have completed specialized training and are licensed by the state or federal government. This is to ensure that RUPs are applied in a safe and effective manner.
